I have been very busy this week with wood-staining, PVA sealing and some very industrious painting and finishing, although the blinding headache from the yacht varnish I found in a cupboard and used to paint my newly-fitted handrail (still no spiral staircase accidents as yet – fingers crossed) is only now beginning to subside, helped greatly by the best efforts of some charming gentleman callers all keen to see me before I depart these shores on Monday to play Robinson Crusoe (Miss) for a week.

Whilst I will miss the company of my lovely visitors, I must say that the thought of a break after the chaos of the last few weeks is being very happily anticipated – although those (and there have been several) who are keen to see me return bronzed from the tropical sun are inevitably going to be disappointed; I have packed two bottles of Factor 50+ and am likely to return looking very much as I currently do now, albeit with a far more relaxed composure and unavoidably frizzier hair (think Crystal Tipps – I write from bitter experience). Many new outfits and accessories have been carefully selected and assembled, but as ever, there is plenty of time for suggestions so do get in touch!

This week I have also been arranging my next London visit; my fabulous artwork is ready to collect and I will be looking forward to finally possessing it on the 26th of September! Being the new owner of far more wall than I am accustomed to has meant that I am still undecided as to where it will be best displayed, certainly be somewhere where I can look at it often (although the back of the refrigerator is clearly not practical). I have a feeling that, in common with the most fortunate of us, it may spend a bit of time getting moved around and ‘tried out’ here and there, but will eventually find it’s own niche – and may it be very happy.

Back on the 16th! xxx

Preparation for my upcoming trip is well under way, in that I have dug out and laundered 2 bikinis, 3 cotton sundresses and a sarong wrap I had forgotten was functioning nicely as a curtain swag in my new and improved bedroom.
