if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it…

…but if it is, sooner or later it’s got to be sorted and as the majority of those reading will have spotted already, that includes blogs with seventeen year old code.

Having spent almost an entire twenty four hours staring at screens before eventually calling it good and pressing Migrate with nothing short of terror, the new, improved and 2025-compliant blog is here! Everything is up to date, and whilst there will be tweaks needed here and there, almost five hundred posts have been moved over without a hitch and that is a blessed relief.

We have a new theme (Ashe Pro), a new background (a bit of the Barbican!) and some new local City pictures; there are still bits to do but – fingers crossed – that’s it, and the many and varied PHP errors can be forgotten about for another seventeen years! Or ten would do, to be honest.

A proper post is on the way, but since I’ve also been rejigging the site (and I know it looks pretty, but it’s not quite finished yet), this will do fine for the time being. And it’s the weekend!
